ATHLETE SPOTLIGHT

Winter 2020 Donation Drive
Tis the season... my best friend and I would like to wish everyone a safe and happy holidays. It's clear this year has been tough on everyone, not only physically, mentally, and or financially. This year has given me time, a lot of time to reflect on myself as a HUMAN. Meaning, I'm allowed to FEEL. My name is Elijah Bartlett-Springer, I'm a 22 year old student athlete, and most importantly I'm an African American man that has felt with continuous anxiety, depression- you name it. IT IS WHAT IT IS! I always questioned my own feelings and been scared to express myself freely, and still do. I've learned we are ALL going to suffer in our own ways. I've learned that it's okay to FEEL, we all do. I've learned to never judge a person; you never know what they're dealing with and what they've been through. it's clear times are tough and everyone is fighting their own battles. it's easy to always feel sorry for yourself especially during such uncertain times. This pandemic has made me realize although I am going through my own shit and it sucks, so are over 7 billion people. I'm lucky enough to have a roof over my head, clean water to drink, a family to come home too etc. Count your blessings. There's MILLIONS of people out in our world who don't know when their next meal is going to be, HUMANS just like you and I who don't have even a clean glass of water to drink. With all that being said, I've begun to collect non-perishable food items and clothing items that I will be donating on Christmas Eve. We have actual HUMAN BEINGS who have NOTHING. Let's try to give them SOMETHING to try and smile about over the holidays. ANYTHING AND EVERYTHING HELPS. If anyone is interesting in making a donation feel free. Once again, wishing you all a safe and happy holidays.
